STRATEGIC COLLABORATION WITH CANTERBURY CHRIST CHURCH UNIVERSITY FOR CAPACITY BUILDING WITH A GLOBAL REPUTATION

ELITE Innovation College Cambridge and Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) signed collaboration agreement for strategic cooperation and partnership on January 28th 2021.

Both parties share a great vision in tackling challenges and opportunities in the areas of the global higher education and the economic globalization in post covid-19 era for developing future leaders and managers. Both parties agreed to work together in creating synergy in a broad range of possible educational and science & technology collaboration and technological innovation collaboration, to benefit from mutual educational and science & technology development interests, transferring areas of educational and science & technology initiatives into programmes, business models and business practice, as well as identifying strategic research, innovation management, technology management, entrepreneurship and global leadership [ELITE] agendas and areas of corporate and executive education, delivered online and offline (O2O) on campus and off campus. 

Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) is a public university located in Canterbury, Kent, England. Founded as a Church of England college for teacher training in 1962, it was granted university status in 2005. 

The university has developed rapidly since its inception in 1962 and now has around 15,000 students based at locations across Kent in Canterbury, Medway (as part of the Universities at Medway partnership) and Tunbridge Wells. As well as being Kent's largest centre of higher education for the public services – notably teacher training, health and social care and the emergency services – the university also offers academic and professional programmes, including doctorates and research degrees in the arts, humanities and social and applied sciences. The university is also developing its portfolio of STEM courses, including engineering and medicine. The university is working with industry and businesses in the south-east to develop its STEM courses and is working in partnership with the University of Kent on the development of the medical school.

" Professor Annie Lu, Dean of International Partners and Development, CCCU, expressed at the virtual signing ceremony.

“Our ELITE College is a non-traditional, innovative and entrepreneurial one born during the pandemic with a strong mission of leading innovation and promoting innovation. Without compromising the quality of education and enhancing student’s journey, it reframes the Oxbridge model in building O2O innovation university. At the same time, we promote innovation and entrepreneurship education between the two parties, promote cooperation in research and innovation, teaching and learning, promote teachers’ training. We work together by sharing our global educational resources with CCCU, maintaining mechanism innovation, system innovation, model innovation, and management innovation for the contribution the capacity building with a global reputations." Professor Li-Hua expressed in his remarks at the online signing ceremony.

The signing of the MoU confirms that both parties will work together in the promotion and delivery of the education of innovation and entrepreneurship in the institutions of the global higher education, notably in China, US and UK. Both parties will work together in the direction of delivery of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Symposiums, Forums and Workshops both online and offline in China, US and UK.

Both parties will make efforts immediately for the promotion and design, development and implementation of the bespoke joint running programmes in China and USA for mutual benefit.
