STRATEGIC COLLABORATION WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF LAW

Co-construction, knowledge sharing, and win-win solution

On 25th September 2021, at 13:00 UK Time, Vassilis Konstantinou, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Law (ULaw), and Prof. Richard Li-Hua, Founder and President of ELITE Innovation College Cambridge (EICC), jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic cooperation in a virtual signing ceremony. And Prof. Maurits Van Rooijen, chief executive (academic), group rector, global university systems of Global University Systems (GUS) witnessed this signing ceremony.

The University of Law

The University of Law is one of the UK's longest-established specialist providers of legal education. The Business School of the University of Law in the United Kingdom has the expertise and responsibilities to deal with the challenges facing the business world. The faculty has a deep educational background and rich experience in a wide range of business fields, and adopts innovative teaching methods, and has won a good reputation among many domestic and international employers. Many students who performed well in work placements later started their careers in the same company.

The University of Law located in London Moorgate

In response to global higher education and economic globalization in the post-COVID-19 era, the two parties jointly promote and provide innovation and entrepreneurship education, and jointly promote, design, plan and implement customized Sino-foreign joint school projects and other mutually beneficial affairs. According to this agreement, the two parties will continue to explore in-depth all-around strategic cooperation. This strategic cooperation will promote both parties to gain a more favorable position in global higher education and the global economy, and jointly cope with the challenges and opportunities they face.

The two parties reached an agreement on in-depth cooperation to provide academic and non-academic education in Cambridge, including short-term legal training and development. Both parties agree that ELITE Innovation College Cambridge will select special projects, courses, and majors through a franchised model, and jointly run a school in Cambridge. Students will obtain a degree certificate from the University of Law after completing their studies. Taking into account the factors of the global education market and the characteristics of ELITE Innovation College Cambridge (EICC), EICC plans to launch six undergraduate and master's programs in business and management in the first phase. Both parties have fully considered highlighting the advantages of ELITE Innovation College Cambridge, and added these selected project courses (1) innovation management; (2) technology management; (3) global entrepreneurship, and (4) global leadership development.

Both Prof. Richard Li-Hua and Vassilis Konstantinou shared the same positive attitude toward their in-deep cooperation “We are very pleased to sign this MoU. Today we have a very great start.” Prof. Maurits Van Rooijen shared this happiness and showed confidence about their further cooperation in the future.

Profile of ELITE Innovation College Cambridge (EICC)

Our College

Our College was born during the pandemic with a mission to lead and push innovation. ELITE carries impact and significant connotation. ELITE is an acronym of e-learning of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship within an O2O Innovation University in global higher education. Almost all the universities and colleges are currently delivering courses online based upon the MOOC experiences since the outbreak of Covid-19. Our intention of the establishment of ELITE O2O (online and offline) Innovative Education Platform is an exploration of an innovative education pedagogy of integrating the delivery of programs, knowledge, contents, and education ethos with a global vision embedded in the teaching and learning strategy built into the technological system of O2O innovation university.

Such a system demonstrates how various features and objectives of innovative and entrepreneurial university can be created, translated, articulated, and achieved. The distinctiveness of this system is to highlight that the teaching and learning model is decided not only with the impact of the virus but also by the nature of knowledge. Explicit knowledge is delivered online while tacit knowledge is transferred face-to-face. ELITE Innovation College Cambridge (EICC), in many respects, is regarded as a globally connected innovative and entrepreneurial university. With our forward-looking global vision, we are well-positioned with strong features in global higher education in the 21st century.

ELITE is an acronym of E-Learning of Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship within an O2O innovation university in global higher education. We are building four distinctive colleges based on the 15 years of scientific research and innovation accumulated by the [China Association for Management of Technology] (CAMOT) on the technology innovation platform of [ELITE Innovation College Cambridge]. Offline tutoring centers located in selected cities are closely connected. Through these colleges, at this stage, we can build strong competitiveness and core advantages together with other academic colleges of the university.
