EICC joins hands with GLEN to promote and lead educational innovation

Cambridge, 15 December 2022 –ELITE Innovation College Cambridge, today announces the start of academic cooperation between EICC and GLEN China

On 13th December 2022, Professor Richard Li-Hua, Founder and President of ELITE Innovation College Cambridge (EICC), United Kingdom, and Mr. Hongbo Qiao, Founder and CEO of Beijing GLEN Education Group (GLEN), China, jointly signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement. Both parties shared an exciting vision in tackling the challenges and opportunities for developing future leaders and managers in the post COVID-19 era.

EICC and GLEN will gradually launch strategic cooperation work in the following aspects:

1. Joint efforts to build the GLEN’s Graduate School of Education in Cambridge and ELITE Global College (EGC) - EICC Offline Delivery Centre in Beijing

The two parties have reached this agreement to work together to ensure the sustainable development of the Graduate School. EICC as the GLEN’s Graduate School, invite GLEN to set up a representative office in Cambridge. GLEN provides physical office space and invites EICC to set up its Beijing Branch/Campus including:

  • EICC Offline Delivery Centre

  • EICC Centre for Excellence

  • EICC Centre for Research and Innovation

  • EICC Innovation & Incubation Centre or its Campus

The two parties will set up the "Beijing Branch of ELITE Innovation College Cambridge " to be responsible for the teaching and scientific research of ELITE Innovation College Cambridge in Beijing. And send international students from different countries to GLEN for the short-term study. Such as Chinese linguistics and literature or other mutual recognition of credit courses, innovation and entrepreneurship education and short-term exchange program for international students.

Both parties will work together in developing a strategic plan for enabling the Five universities, which are the strategic partners of EICC, including University of the West of Scotland (UWS), University of Applied Science Europe (UE), Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), International University of Applied Science (IU) and Trinity Western University (TWU) to be introduced into the [Educational Innovation Experimental Project], so as gradually to set up [Educational Innovation Experimental Project] in Beijing.

2. Related with Student: Articulation arrangement, well-selected programmes, combined master and doctoral studies

As for the Graduate School established by both parties in Cambridge, EICC will concentrate on serving GLEN in terms of future discipline development and professional development. Taking GLEN’s discipline development direction as its direction, EICC will select relevant programmes and enable GLEN’s outstanding undergraduates to achieve masters and PhDs through the articulation education.

EICC and its degree-granting partners include the International University of Applied Technology in Germany, Trinity Western University in Canada and Davis College in the United States through franchising and cooperation. For details, see: or

The duration of the exchange student program is generally one semester or two semesters. EICC recognizes the credits obtained by the sent students during their study in GLEN, and recognizes the academic transcripts and study certificates issued by GLEN.

3. Related with Academic Members of Staff: Improvement of Teaching and Scientific Research

Both parties will cooperate deeply in teacher training and recommending foreign teachers to teach in GLEN. In terms of building soft power and improving academic strength, EICC will concentrate its efforts to serve GLEN, and select relevant programmes based on its subject development direction so as to provide channels and convenience for the enhancement of its teachers' teaching and research level, professional level improvement, English proficiency improvement and academic promotion.

In order to improve the level of teaching and scientific research, as well as the ability to publish books and academic papers, EICC welcomes teachers from GLEN to EICC’s Centre for Research and Innovation and Centre for Excellence, and to carry out the training of doctoral and master students.

4. Related with Leadership: Improvement of innovation, academic capacity, and execution

In terms of international visibility and talent employment, the two parties will appoint acting position/interim position to each other to enhance the innovation, academic capacity, leadership and execution of both parties so as to establish GLEN’s global reputation and enhance GLEN’s internationalization level, jointly build an international education brand. To leverage the advantages of EICC’s brand of educational innovation and the platform to promote Sino-UK cooperation and innovation in education, science and technology.

The two parties will also co-host online and offline [Global Innovation Webinar] and [University Presidents Forum] in China and the UK.
