News Report of the Signing Ceremony of

GUTB and EICC Collaboration Agreement


On 17th March 2022, Prof. Dr. Rihua WANG, President, Guangzhou University of Technology and Business (GUTB), China and Professor Richard Li-Hua, Founder and President of ELITE Innovation College Cambridge (EICC), UK, jointly signed a Collaboration Agreement confirming ongoing dialogue on strategic cooperation via a virtual signing ceremony. Both parties shared an exciting vision in tackling the challenges and opportunities for developing future leaders and managers during the pandemic and in the post COVID-19 era. It is a grand gathering not only for the signing but also a further step towards the implementation of major initiatives of both parties.

1. To create synergy in building a Global Higher Education Demonstration Project in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

Both parties are highly motivated to work together jointly in developing a Global Higher Education Demonstration Project in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with introduction high-quality higher education resources around the world and building a diversified innovative system of Sino-foreign cooperative education; establishing the international campus park, gathering global educational resources, promoting collaborative research and innovation, collaborative teaching and learning, promoting the education of innovation and entrepreneurship, and expanding its global influence and increasing its international visibility as well as building a world-class regional higher education center.

2. EICC Global College-Guangzhou, China

Both parties share the global vision of globalization of running a school. To make the ivory tower base enlarged and the spire taller. To have reconstruction of education intelligently, with innovation leading the future. Both parties will work together in leading and promoting educational innovation, providing overall education, holistic education, through reconstructing the Oxbridge model and to have mutual recognition of adaptation of the emerging and innovative model during the pandemic and in the post-epidemic era.


The two parties have reached this agreement to work together to ensure the sustainable development of ELITE Global College and their Graduate School. GUTB provides physical office space and invites EICC to set up its Guangzhou Branch/Campus, namely, EICC ELITE Global College-Guangzhou, China, including:

§ EICC Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

§ EICC Centre for Research and Innovation:

§ EICC Innovation & Incubation Centre or its Campus


Both parties will make efforts for their student mobilities from both campuses in Cambridge and Guangzhou as well as EICC ELITE Global Colleges/Campuses. EICC will send its international students from different countries to Guangzhou University of Technology and Business for the short-term study. Such as study of Chinese linguistics and literature or other mutual recognition of credit courses, innovation and entrepreneurship education, experience in Chinese firms and short-term exchange program for international students.

Both parties will work together in developing a strategic plan for enabling the Five universities, which are the strategic partners of EICC, including University of the West of Scotland (UWS), University of Law (ULaw), University of Applied Science Europe (UE), Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) and Trinity Western University (TWU) to be introduced into the [Educational Innovation Experimental Project], so as gradually to set up [Educational Innovation Experimental Project in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao (Guangzhou).


As for the Graduate School established by both parties in Cambridge, EICC will concentrate on serving GUTB in terms of future discipline development and professional development. Taking GUTB’s discipline development direction as its direction, EICC will select relevant programmes and enable GUTB’s outstanding undergraduates to achieve masters and PhDs through the articulation education.

4. Opportunities for Staff Exchange, Staff Development and Visiting Scholars

Both Parties will make efforts in developing opportunities for staff exchange, staff development and visiting scholars from GUTB, teacher training, for the enhancement of GUTB teachers' teaching and research level, joint papers, presentation and joint publication, joint seminars and workshops, professional level improvement, English proficiency improvement and academic promotion, for the enhancement of the internationalization of GUTB.


In conjunction with EDP programmes with ITDC, Kuwait, and SPI, Portugal, EICC Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) Programme and Global Leadership for Women (GLW) Programme are available for GUTB colleagues/staff.

Profile of Guangzhou University of Technology and Business

Guangzhou University of Technology and Business is a non-profit private full-time general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education, China. It was founded in 1995 and was upgraded to undergraduate in 2014. In 2021, it will be approved to become a master's degree awarding project construction unit in Guangdong Province and a new station unit for doctoral workstations in Guangdong Province. ELITE is an acronym of E-Learning of Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship.
