WORKING TOGETHER IN CREATING SYNERGY THROUGH EMBRACING INNOVATION: ELITE COLLEGE JOINS HANDS WITH GUANGZHOU COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS, GUANGZHOU, CHINA

ELITE Innovation College Cambridge and Guangzhou College of Technology and Business signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation and partnership on January 27th 2021.
Both parties share a great vision in tackling challenges and opportunities in the areas of the global higher education and the economic globalization in post covid-19 era for developing future leaders and managers. Both parties agreed to work together in creating synergy in a broad range of possible educational and science & technology collaboration and technological innovation collaboration, to benefit from mutual educational and science & technology development interests, transferring areas of educational and science & technology initiatives into programmes, business models and business practice, as well as identifying strategic research, innovation management, technology management, entrepreneurship and global leadership [ELITE] agendas and areas of corporate and executive education, delivered online and offline (O2O) on campus and off campus.
Introduction to Guangzhou College of Technology and Business (GCTB)
GCTB is a private full-time comprehensive undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It was established in 1995 independently as GCTB in 2004. In May 2014, it was upgraded to undergraduate and renamed Guangzhou Institute of Technology and Business. In 2018, the school has two campuses, Guangzhou Huadu and Foshan Sanshui. It is located in the center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with a superior geographical location, complete teaching facilities and abundant school resources. The campus has a total area of ​​926,714.42 square meters and a building area of ​​674,807.05 square meters; there are 12 experimental teaching centers, more than 70,000 square meters of experimental training teaching rooms; a library of 3.0119 million paper books; a standard track and field with a large gymnasium, various stadiums, student activity centers and other cultural and sports venues and facilities.
The College has over 30,000 full-time students, including 23,350 undergraduates. There are 16 teaching units and 25 undergraduate majors, covering 5 university disciplines: management, economics, engineering, literature, and art. Among them, international trade and logistics management are provincial key disciplines, and accounting and marketing are Guangdong key specialty of provincial higher vocational education. The school actively expands the field of international cooperation in running schools. In September 2016, the School of International Education of Guangzhou College of Technology and Business was established.
The College has 1403 full-time teachers, including 1,098 teachers with master's and doctoral degrees, accounting for 78.26% of the total number of full-time teachers; 590 teachers are with senior professional titles, accounting for 55.40%, and 2 senior experts enjoy special allowances from the State Council.
ELITE Innovation College Cambridge was born during the pandemic with a mission to lead and push innovation. ELITE carries impact and significant connotation. ELITE is an acronym of e-learning of innovation, technology and entrepreneurship within an O2O Innovation University in the global higher education. Almost all the universities and colleges are currently delivering courses online based upon the MOOC experiences since the outbreak of Covid-19. The signing of the MoU confirms that both parties will work together in the promotion and delivery of the education of innovation and entrepreneurship in the institutions of the global higher education, notably in China and UK. Both parties will work together in the direction of delivery of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Symposiums, Forums and Workshops both online and offline in China and UK and in the direction of enabling the establishment of a Representative Office of the other party in Guangzhou, China and Cambridge, UK.
Both parties will make efforts immediately for the promotion and design, development and implementation of the bespoke Sino-foreign joint running school in Guangzhou for mutual benefit in alignment with China’s strategy and policy in Sino-foreign running school.
